Michelle’s journey to Jungle Friends began with a dramatic rescue from a bankrupt roadside zoo, where she lived with 24 other capuchins in a cramped enclosure. The rescue team anticipated a straightforward operation, knowing there was a nursing mother and infant among the group. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Michelle and two other females gave birth shortly after their arrival, despite assurances that all the males had been vasectomized. To prevent further surprises, the males were moved to a separate bachelor group until they could undergo vasectomies. Michelle, along with her newborn, Cindy, was relocated to a private habitat with Aunt Nell to ensure Cindy's well-being.

Today, Michelle and Nell share their space with Link, one of the males from the original group, creating a unique and close-knit family. Meanwhile, Cindy, now grown up, has moved nearby to live with Fast Tony, another male from the same group. In this nurturing environment, Michelle and her family have found peace and comfort, thriving together in their sanctuary home.
