After months of preparation, Mico Monster and his companion of ten years, Miki Moo, arrived at Jungle Friends. Mico and Miki, like many monkeys kept as pets, were surrendered to the sanctuary after attacking their previous guardians. Mico, typical of many captive monkeys, was diabetic and insulin-dependent when he first arrived at the sanctuary. Fortunately, we've successfully managed his diabetes through diet, low stress, and plenty of exercise.

Mico is a true "man's man"; he becomes visibly excited and bursts into screams whenever he spots a male human! He's frequently seen patrolling the runways that surround their habitat, vigilantly safeguarding their new home. Despite his name, Mico is far from a "Monster." When he smiles, he resembles a pleasantly plump and cheerful Buddha, exuding wisdom and brightening everyone's day.

Years later, Mico and Miki welcomed an old friend, Cookie, another capuchin from their past. The trio spends their time grooming each other, forming a content and harmonious group.
