Paul

Species: Brown Capuchin
Background: Confiscation
Date of Birth: 3/15/1995
Arrival Date: 03/31/2025
Paul was confiscated by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service after a major federal investigation into illegal breeding and trafficking on the Dark Web. He was one of eight monkeys rescued on March 31, 2025. The scars of past neglect are undeniable: worn teeth, a missing finger, and part of his tongue lost along the way, yet his resilience shines through. But none of that slows him down today. His weight and health have improved with good care, and his resilient spirit shines brighter than ever.

Known around here as the “little greedy dude”, Paul is always the first to reach for food. He is independent, confident, and not shy about making sure he gets his share. At the same time, Paul has a softer side and looks out for his girls, Beth and Lyn, showing care and companionship in their close-knit troop.

Whether he is snacking, exploring, or standing tall in his habitat, Paul is proof that stability and spirit can overcome even the hardest beginnings.
