Sloth's story began in Argentina, his native home, before he was captured and sold into the harsh confines of laboratory research. For years, he endured iron toxicity studies and the profound isolation of a small cage, with little contact, no play, and no freedom to be a monkey. Despite this difficult past, Sloth has emerged with a gentle, good-natured spirit that shines brighter every day.

Now, at Jungle Friends, Sloth enjoys the simple joys of sanctuary life. He feels the soft grass under his feet, basks in the warm sunshine, and explores his habitat with curiosity and confidence. Peanuts are a particular favorite, and he will happily extend his tiny hands for a treat, his excitement evident in every movement. Sloth also has a companion, Mia Senior, and the two share a close bond. Together, they climb, jump, groom, and play, filling their habitat with energy and joy. Whether digging happily in the dirt, leaping through the trees, or quietly observing their surroundings, Sloth embodies the essence of a content, thriving capuchin.

From a life of isolation to one of freedom, friendship, and fun, Sloth's days are now filled with the experiences he was meant to have.
