BamBam’s early life was filled with upheaval. She had been purchased as a substitute for a child, an impossible role for any monkey to fill, and her natural capuchin behaviors, like biting and scratching, quickly led to trouble. After a mandatory quarantine and a brief period riding along in a semi truck with her owner, another biting incident resulted in BamBam being confiscated. She spent five long months in Animal Control in Minnesota, where she was at real risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, Jungle Friends stepped in just in time and gave her the second chance she desperately needed.

At first, BamBam was overwhelmed by her new world, but once she realized she was safe, her true personality burst forth, and what a personality it is! BamBam is pure kinetic joy. She loves to shake branches with dramatic flair, launch herself from one

end of her habitat to the other, and swing gleefully from buckets as though she’s putting on a circus act just for fun. Her zoomies are legendary.

She also has a softer side, especially when it comes to her boyfriend, Mr. ChiChi. The two can often be found grooming each other, sharing snacks, or simply enjoying side-by-side time between bursts of high-energy play. From a precarious past to a life filled with movement, mischief, and love, BamBam has truly come into her own. Her vibrancy is infectious, and every day she reminds us just how resilient and joyful a rescued monkey can be!
