Charlotte is one of the sanctuary’s most serene souls, a calm, steady presence whose gentle nature has shaped Jungle Friends since the very beginning. She and her sister Samantha are lovingly known as the sanctuary’s “co-founders,” not because they built the place with their own hands, but because their spirits, personalities, and needs were what first inspired Kari to create a safe and natural home for monkeys like them. 

Charlotte was brought home to Las Vegas to keep Samantha company, and the two became inseparable partners in curiosity and adventure. Samantha, with her bright humor and playful mischief, brought endless joy to everyone around her, and her memory remains deeply cherished. Even today, those who knew her can’t think of Samantha without smiling. Charlotte carries that legacy with quiet grace, holding her sister’s memory close while continuing to thrive. 

After Samantha passed in 2017, Charlotte was introduced to MonkMonk, a white-faced capuchin who had survived a difficult past. The pair couldn’t have been more perfect for each other! MonkMonk’s lively enthusiasm blends beautifully with Charlotte’s steady sweetness, and together they’ve created a bond full of trust, comfort, and daily play. 

Now, Charlotte spends her days exploring her habitat at her own peaceful pace, sharing gentle moments and joyful romps with MonkMonk. Her soft presence and enduring resilience continue to touch everyone who knows her.
