Kelli may have a gentle presence, but don’t let that fool you—she’s full of sass and clever charm. Her journey to Jungle Friends began when she was nine years old, after leaving behind life on the road in a cramped cage inside an RV where she was kept as a “pet.” It was a stressful existence, and Kelli didn’t hide her frustration. Eventually, her human family realized she needed something they simply couldn’t provide: space, monkey companionship, and a life truly suited to a capuchin.

Kelli arrived at Jungle Friends shy and cautious, opening up slowly and choosing her companions carefully. Corky was the first to earn her trust, and the two have been closely bonded ever since. Their peaceful partnership later expanded to include Jimmy, whose lively energy Kelli tolerates—most of the time. When the boys become too rambunctious, she simply slips away for some quiet time in an adjoining habitat.

One of Kelli’s favorite pastimes is playing catch. She’ll toss a monkey biscuit with perfect aim, then patiently wait for it to be thrown back so she can attempt a dramatic catch of her own. In these moments, her understated humor shines. Kelli brings a calm, steady presence to her troop. In her own subtle way, she is the queen of her little world.
