Aunt Jake may have arrived at Jungle Friends with a reserved demeanor, but it didn’t take long for her true personality to shine. Now in her golden years, this goofy, sharp-eyed lady is always in the loop — even if she lets others investigate first. She prefers to watch Aunt Gizmo and Alex check things out before wandering over to see what the fuss is about.

Born at Wooster College in Ohio, Aunt Jake spent the first 30 years of her life in a long-term cognitive and behavioral research study. When it ended, she retired with her monkey family to Jungle Friends, where sunshine and fresh air replaced laboratory walls.

Known for inserting herself into family squabbles (invited or not!), Aunt Jake has occasionally gotten bumped in the drama. Still, she adores her companions and wouldn’t miss out on the action. Now over 40, she remains active and curious, embracing each day of her well-earned Almost Wild retirement.

Unlike her companions, Aunt Jake doesn’t have diabetes, but she happily joins special mealtimes and is an expert at coaxing treats with those big, expressive eyes. With her mix of caution and charm, she brings warmth and a touch of mischief to the sanctuary.
