Skotty is a brown capuchin with a mischievous streak as big as his heart. He can often be seen walking upright across his habitat, proudly carrying a favorite toy, or plotting his next bit of harmless chaos- untangling blankets, dragging newspaper outside to shred, or rearranging anything that catches his eye. And he’s rarely alone in his adventures: his best friend Harriet, a young brown capuchin around his age, is always by his side. The two are inseparable, frequently getting into mischief together, hanging out, or grooming each other when they need a little downtime.

Skotty’s early life was difficult. Rescued after reports of mistreatment, he arrived severely malnourished and had been exposed to substances like amphetamines and caffeine. With dedicated care and a nutritious diet, he gradually regained his strength, confidence, and playful spirit. Though he missed out on time with his

mother, Skotty found mentorship and friendship among his fellow capuchins, including Kooda, an older capuchin who helped him learn to climb, grasp, and explore safely.

Today, Skotty thrives in his “Almost Wild” habitat, spending sunny afternoons playing, exploring, and causing just the right amount of chaos with Harriet and Kooda. Whether carrying a prized toy or masterminding a playful scheme, Skotty’s energy, charm, and joyful antics light up every corner of his world and remind everyone how resilient and spirited a rescued monkey can be!
