Meet Link, a capuchin whose journey to freedom started in the most unlikely of places: a sterile research facility. Bred in captivity and confined to a solitary metal cage for years, Link was one of eight capuchins used in iron-toxicity studies. Day after day, the cold steel bars were his only view. But those days are behind him now. Today, Link is basking in the warmth of his well-deserved retirement at Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary.

The youngest of his group, Link stands out not just for his striking looks—he’s been dubbed "the most handsome" by the sanctuary staff—but also for his cautious, thoughtful nature. Though he’s still getting used to his new surroundings, he’s quickly learning to embrace the sanctuary life. One of his quirks? He likes to take his monkey chow and soak it in water before indulging, a small ritual that makes him even more endearing. And when it’s time for his beloved nutritional shake, you can count on Link to be front and center, eagerly awaiting his treat.

Despite the hardship he’s endured, Link’s playful spirit shines through. He’s known for his comedic timing, often stealing the spotlight with his silly antics. Though his past was marked by isolation, his future is one filled with care, companionship, and the simple joys of a monkey learning to live free.
