Skotty, a brown capuchin, was rescued by animal control officers after they received a tip about his mistreatment. Blood tests revealed he had been given amphetamines and caffeine. Initially, he was taken in by Peaceable Primate Sanctuary and was soon transferred to Jungle Friends. When Skotty arrived, he was severely malnourished, but with a nutritious diet and the care of our dedicated caregiver, Beth, he quickly began to thrive. Skotty has continued to progress through the stages of monkey babyhood at his own pace, a process that ideally should have been nurtured by his mother.

At Jungle Friends, Skotty formed a special bond with Kooda, a capuchin 30 years his senior. Having lost several of her older companions over the years, Kooda was thrilled to find a new friend in Baby Skotty. She enjoyed sharing his special baby foods, and they spent every day together. As Skotty grew stronger, he learned to climb and grasp with the help of his new monkey friends.

Today, Skotty spends his time playing with friends Harriet and Kooda, enjoying an "Almost Wild" life in the sun. He is now happy, healthy, and loves meeting new humans, always ready to charm visitors with his playful antics. We are so grateful for his recovery and the joy he brings to everyone he meets.
