BamBam faced significant challenges from the start, having been purchased as a substitute for a child. Her natural monkey behaviors, including biting and scratching, led to a mandatory 30-day quarantine. Her situation became more complicated when her owner, following a divorce and in need of employment, secured a job as a truck driver. This job opportunity allowed BamBam to accompany her owner on the road. Unfortunately, this arrangement didn't last due to another biting incident, which led to BamBam's confiscation. She then spent five months in Animal Control in Minnesota, during which she was at risk of euthanasia.

Her fate took a positive turn when Jungle Friends stepped in, offering her a sanctuary and a chance at a new beginning. Initially overwhelmed and shy, BamBam soon found her footing, engaging enthusiastically in climbing and swinging, and quickly bonding with the sanctuary's monkeys and humans alike. Her sociability and charm have made her a cherished member of the sanctuary community. Now, everyone who walks by BamBam's enclosure takes a moment to engage with her, offering treats or kind words, a testament to the special place she holds in the hearts of the staff and her fellow sanctuary residents.
