Coco has lived a long life shaped by travel and performance, and today she enjoys each moment at her own gentle pace. For more than thirty years, Coco and her longtime companion Mikki traveled as organ-grinder monkeys, entertaining crowds alongside The Hurdy Gurdy Man at parties and events. After decades in the spotlight, the pair retired and found their way to Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary, where a quieter, more natural life awaited them in sunny Florida.

Though Coco and Mikki no longer share a habitat, both continue to thrive in their golden years. Mikki is a weeper capuchin and remains bold and sassy, now living with Gini Rose—also a weeper capuchin and just as precocious. Coco, meanwhile, has embraced a calmer routine. She lives with her gentle companion Marcel, who shares her love of a peaceful life.

Known for her thoughtful nature and soft presence, Coco enjoys spending time outside, watching her monkey neighbors, caregivers, gopher tortoises, and the beauty of the world around her. Sweet and gentle at heart, she still has a feisty side that reminds everyone she’s no pushover. Having traded applause for sun-warmed naps and quiet companionship, Coco’s elegance, curiosity, and quiet wisdom continue to set her apart at Jungle Friends.
