When Mia arrived at Jungle Friends, she had already endured years of neglect. Painful dental abscesses required the removal of many of her teeth so she could finally find relief. Despite everything she experienced, Mia’s kind spirit remained completely intact, and her soft presence quickly won over caregivers and visitors alike.

Mia communicates affection in her own gentle language. When she spots a favorite human, she’ll calmly approach, lie down, and turn her back—a polite request for some soothing grooming. Grooming was once a daily comfort she shared with her long-time companion Poppy. Though Mia now lives with Sloth, whose early life in a lab left him without grooming skills, she still enjoys these peaceful moments with her human friends.

Mia also loves spending time outdoors foraging for special treats she finds in the earth. On cooler days, she can often be found napping in her climate-controlled bedroom, and when the weather warms, she seeks out a sunny patch of ground to stretch and bask.
