Kiefer the marmoset unexpectedly arrived at Jungle Friends on April 4, 2015, after a rough start in life. He was discovered by a cleaning crew in a South Florida apartment, left behind by former tenants and alone for several days without food or water. Thankfully, he was rescued just in time and brought straight to the sanctuary, where his life took a dramatic turn for the better.

Today, Kiefer is thriving-and keeping everyone on their toes! He's full of energy and attitude, often found perched in his enclosure watching his monkey neighbors with great interest… and the occasional playful threat, just to remind them who's the boss. He's also a curious little bug-hunter, always keeping a close eye out for any tasty snacks that might wander into his habitat. At feeding time, Kiefer scours his food bowl for his favorite foods, grapes and Cheerios, and lets out an excited chirp once he's finally found one! From a rough beginning to a life filled with love, play, and purpose, Kiefer has truly flourished at Jungle Friends. His story is a reminder of just how far a little care-and a lot of personality-can go.
