King Louie arrived at Jungle Friends on March 12, 2019, after being relinquished from life as a pet-and from the moment he set foot in Munchkinland, he was ready to make an impression. While many monkeys take time to adjust, Louie dove right in, excited by all the sights, sounds, and especially the female marmosets around him.

True to his nickname, Louie wasted no time showing off his smooth moves, charming the ladies through the mesh like a little monkey Romeo. As soon as he got the all-clear from the veterinary team, he was paired up-and he's been happily coupled ever since. It was clear from the start: Louie wasn't just looking for a fresh start; he was looking for love.

Louie's curious and confident nature continues to shine every day. He's one of the first marmosets to head outside in the morning, eager to see what's going on in the world around him. With a long runway connecting his indoor and outdoor enclosures, he spends his days observing his monkey neighbors, watching the humans, and keeping tabs on everything from meal deliveries to monkey mischief.

He's got a great appetite and a laid-back vibe, but don't let his relaxed demeanor fool you-when something catches his attention, he's ready to spring into action. His favorite treat? Cereal, hands down – served with a side of enthusiasm. Charming, curious, and always up for a little flirtation, King Louie has fully embraced sanctuary life-and it's safe to say, Munchkinland wouldn't be the same without him.
