If you spot a blur of long arms flying through the runways, you've probably just seen Gizmo. This black-handed spider monkey is incredibly athletic and full of playful energy, often racing across his habitat at top speed the moment he notices someone he wants to greet. Saying hello is serious business for Gizmo, and he always arrives with enthusiasm.

Before coming to Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary, Gizmo lived as a pet in a carefully designed habitat with ropes to swing on, toys to explore, and leafy snacks to enjoy. When severe flooding destroyed his home and made it unsafe, his devoted guardians faced a heartbreaking decision. Wanting the very best for Gizmo, they reached out to Jungle Friends, where he could live safely and share his days with other monkeys.

From the start, Gizmo settled in beautifully. He loves spending time racing through his runways, chatting back and forth with caregivers, and making connections with his monkey neighbors. When he's not on the move, Gizmo reveals his softer side, especially when blankets are involved! He happily carries them wherever he wants, carefully arranging them into cozy little nests for relaxing and recharging.

Now surrounded by space, stimulation, and other spider monkeys, Gizmo is thriving. His joyful energy, sweet nature, and unmistakable love of comfort make him a beloved member of the Jungle Friends family!
