Pat has a bold personality and absolutely no shortage of confidence. Feisty, fast, and fiercely opinionated, she makes sure her voice is heard—especially if something doesn’t meet her approval. An indignant screech is Pat’s way of saying, “Excuse me, absolutely not!” Despite having very few fingers and no toes, she moves through her habitat with incredible speed and grace, proving that nothing slows her down for long.

Pat’s story began far from the treetops. She was discovered shivering on a fence during a cold Texas rain, suffering from severe frostbite to her fingers, toes, and tail. After Animal Services rescued her, it became clear just how much she had endured. Her injuries were serious, and her fear and confusion were heartbreaking. While some believed she was beyond saving, one compassionate person knew Pat deserved a chance to live.

After multiple surgeries to remove all her toes, all but one finger on her left hand, and the tip of her tail, Pat amazed everyone. Just three days later, she was climbing and swinging as if she’d always done so. Her determination was unmistakable.

Today, Pat is a true powerhouse. Unless you know her history, you’d never guess she’s an amputee. She has adapted beautifully to sanctuary life and found her place among the other spider monkeys. Alongside her partner Noah, Pat spends her days racing through the habitat, grooming, playing, and reminding everyone that resilience can come wrapped in sass, speed, and a whole lot of attitude.
