Fry

Date of Birth: 8/16/2011
Arrival Date: 11/14/2018
Fry is one of 26 squirrel monkeys who made history when they were retired from FDA nicotine studies and welcomed into the peaceful embrace of Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary. His arrival, alongside his troop, marked a turning point for lab animals across the country, with CNN covering the monumental release. For Fry and his friends, it was a long-overdue ticket to freedom.

But while Fry’s past might be groundbreaking, his demeanor suggests he’s blissfully unaware of his place in history. With his perpetually bewildered expression, Fry always manages to look like the innocent bystander, no matter the situation. Whether caught in the middle of a mid-afternoon monkey mischief session or sitting on the sidelines as food mysteriously flies across the enclosure, Fry’s go-to look says, “Who, me? I have no idea what just happened!” His sweet, wide-eyed gaze never fails to deflect suspicion, especially when the question arises: “Who threw that?”

Fry is the master of plausible deniability. If you catch him in the act, expect him to quickly avert his gaze and adopt an air of charming innocence. But beneath that lovable confusion lies a playful spirit that knows exactly what’s going on—and may even be the one stirring the pot.
