Species:
Brown Capuchin
Background:
Ex-Pet
Date of Birth:
6/1/1992
Arrival Date:
08/10/2013
Special Needs:
Bone Disease
Kooda spent the initial 21 years of her life as a "pet" before arriving at Jungle Friends, a sanctuary for those like her whose guardians could no longer provide the care she needed. Unfortunately, a diet lacking essential nutrients led Kooda to develop metabolic bone disease, significantly impacting her growth. This condition has dwarfed her, and her posture has formed into a distinct C shape. Despite these challenges, Kooda's spirit remains unbroken. At the sanctuary, she has been carefully introduced to a community of other special needs monkeys. It's within this nurturing environment that Kooda is truly thriving, embracing her new life and the companionship around her with remarkable resilience and joy.
