Kooda may be one of the smallest monkeys at the sanctuary, but she has one of the biggest hearts. After spending 21 years living as a pet, she arrived at Jungle Friends with significant health issues caused by a poor diet- most notably, metabolic bone disease, which left her growth stunted and her spine curved into a soft C-shape. But if you think that slows her down, think again!

Despite her petite size, Kooda keeps up with everyone. She climbs, forages, and lounges in her favorite spot: a roof hammock tucked high above the ground, where she can relax and quietly observe the world around her. She’s a reserved soul, often choosing the background over the spotlight, but her sweet nature shines through in the way she cares for others. Kooda is a devoted groomer, gently tending to her monkey companions with patience and care.

Though she tends to be shy around people, she has her own special way of showing affection. If you’re one of her favorites, you might be lucky enough to earn an approving eyebrow raise, a quiet but unmistakable sign of trust from this gentle girl.

With her resilience, soft spirit, and nurturing presence, Kooda brings calm and comfort wherever she goes. She’s living proof that kindness can be a quiet and powerful force.
