Macy was born into the exotic pet trade and taken from her natural mother at just three days old. Her guardian, who witnessed the harsh realities of this trade while working for the breeder, decided to save Macy from a life of breeding. She purchased Macy and left the breeder's employment.

A few years later, Macy began to self-mutilate, prompting her guardian to seek advice from Jungle Friends. After many emails, long conversations, and a visit to Florida, her guardian decided to bring Macy to Jungle Friends, where she could live with other monkeys.

Macy has since thrived at the sanctuary, reveling in the company of fellow primates. She has blossomed into a spirited and glamorous presence, radiating confidence as if she were the most beautiful monkey in existence. Her playful antics and vivacious charm captivate all who have the pleasure of crossing her path. An accomplished artist, Macy enjoys painting and is one of our very own 'monkey Picassos.' At the end of the day, when the sun sets over the sanctuary, Macy finds solace in the comforting embrace of her companion, her dazzling presence illuminating the night.
