Abby may be little, but she’s bursting with personality! From her first days at Jungle Friends, she made it clear she was ready for a life filled with freedom and monkey friends.

Before coming to the sanctuary, Abby lived in a human home. Her guardians soon realized that keeping a monkey as a “pet” wasn’t fair. Diapers, leashes, and long days alone were not the life she deserved. After watching My Child is a Monkey, featuring Jungle Friends founder Kari Bagnall, they chose to give Abby something better — an Almost Wild life.

Abby arrived at just one year old, still on formula. That same day, another young monkey, Jak Jak, arrived, and they bonded immediately. Both had experienced multiple homes, but here they finally found stability and each other.

Today, Abby is a spunky socialite. She’s not very interested in people (unless snacks are involved), but she loves watching neighboring monkeys — chattering and flirting. She zips around her habitat at lightning speed and ends each evening snuggled beside Jak Jak.

Abby’s story reminds us: monkeys aren’t meant to be “pets.” They deserve an Almost Wild life — and at Jungle Friends, Abby shines.
