Jak Jak was barely a year old and still reliant on formula when he found a new beginning at Jungle Friends. On the very same day, a fellow baby monkey named Abby arrived. Both the same age, Jak Jak and Abby shared much in common, including the upheavals of life as 'pet' monkeys—Jungle Friends became their fourth home. Jak Jak had been separated from his natural mother at just six weeks old and sold into the exotic pet trade. After his original owner passed away eight months later, he was shuffled to another home. His new caretakers believed they were making a compassionate choice by adopting him, but their perspective shifted after seeing Jungle Friends on ABC Primetime. They realized that a true monkey life meant living among peers, not humans.

In his new sanctuary, Jak Jak delights in the "toys" scattered across his habitat. His favorite activity is leaping from the top of the barrel into the bucket below, which he does with remarkable dexterity, showcasing the agility of a natural athlete. Initially timid and overshadowed by Abby's more boisterous nature, Jak Jak has grown confident and assured over time. Now, firmly settled into his forever home, Jak Jak has finally found stability—a place where he will never be uprooted again.
