Jak Jak arrived at Jungle Friends as a baby, just under a year old and still drinking formula. That same day, another young monkey named Abby joined the sanctuary, and the two quickly became inseparable. Both came from difficult starts in the exotic pet trade, and Abby’s bold personality helped Jak Jak come out of his shell. Before long, his own playful confidence began to shine just as brightly!

Taken from his mother at only six weeks old and passed through multiple homes, Jak Jak was fortunate to reach Jungle Friends before his first birthday. Here, he finally found what he’d been missing: space to play, monkey friends to grow up with, and humans who truly understand what monkeys need to thrive.

Now a fully grown capuchin with a larger-than-life personality, Jak Jak adores people, especially his favorite staff, and greets them with joyful screams and an enthusiastic tail shake. He’s social, silly, and always curious about what’s happening around him.

Jak Jak’s energy is matched by his creativity and athletic flair. Whether he’s untying blankets, scattering newspapers like he’s redecorating, or leaping from barrel to bucket with perfect aim, he does everything with gusto. From his early days as a shy young monkey to the vibrant life he enjoys now, Jak Jak continues to shine- full of heart, humor, and charm.
