Jill’s journey to Jungle Friends began with a mystery and a dash of bravery. She was found running loose in Kentucky, where keeping monkeys as pets is illegal. No one came forward to claim her, likely out of fear of legal consequences, so her days of life in hiding came to an end. Instead, she found something better: safety, freedom, and the chance to just be a monkey!

Jill is a gentle soul with a quiet presence. She can be a little shy, especially with new people, but with time and patience, her sweet nature begins to shine through. For those lucky enough to earn her trust, Jill offers soft eyes, slow approaches, and the kind of quiet affection that makes you feel chosen. She’s observant and thoughtful, often choosing to hang back and watch before joining in. Like many former pet monkeys, Jill carries visible signs of her past. Most of her teeth were removed, likely to make her “safer” to handle, and while she’s learned to adapt with grace, it’s a reminder of the life she left behind. Fortunately, she’s now surrounded by caregivers who understand her needs, and who make sure she gets the soft foods and extra support she deserves.

Jill has a few favorite comforts: cozy blankets she can wrap herself up in, and peanuts (the ultimate treat, in her opinion). She’s known to tuck herself into a pile of blankets on cooler days, completely content to observe the world from her warm little nest.

Though soft-spoken and slow to open up, Jill is full of quiet resilience. She’s found her place, her rhythm, and a life where she’s free to go at her own pace, surrounded by kindness, comfort, and the gentle peace she always deserved.
