Leo

Species: Brown Capuchin
Background: Former Lab
Date of Birth: 7/5/1992
Arrival Date: 06/28/2014
Leo spent his early years in a research lab at the University of Georgia, where he quickly earned a reputation for his sharp mind and knack for solving computer tasks. But these days, his biggest mission is figuring out who’s holding the treats and how fast he can get to them!

Since retiring to Jungle Friends with six of his fellow capuchins, Leo has embraced every inch of sanctuary life. He’s a confident explorer, constantly climbing, foraging, and zipping between habitats to check in on his neighbors. Whether he’s investigating new enrichment or keeping tabs on the monkey drama next door, Leo is always tuned in, and usually one step ahead.

Despite his high IQ, Leo's not above indulging in the simple pleasures. His all-time favorite treat is popcorn, and he’s developed a hilariously effective strategy for hoarding it: hands, mouth, feet, any available surface becomes a popcorn storage unit until he’s happily full.

With his quick mind, magnetic personality, and insatiable curiosity, Leo has made an effortless transition from the lab to the leafy Florida sanctuary. These

days, he’s trading research for relaxation, brain games for bug chasing, and proving that a brilliant monkey can also be a total goofball.
