Young Leo’s journey to Jungle Friends began with a bit of deception. A man contacted the sanctuary claiming he had found a loose capuchin and captured him for safety. But once the sanctuary team looked into it, the truth came out: Young Leo wasn’t a stray at all, but rather he was the man’s own pet, surrendered under a false story. Regardless of how he got here, that fib ended up leading Leo to the safe, enriching life he truly needed.

And once he arrived, Leo wasted no time embracing his “almost wild” freedom. Rambunctious, high-energy, and hilariously destructive, he throws himself into every day with full capuchin enthusiasm. Whether he’s dismantling enrichment toys with impressive speed, testing the durability of absolutely anything he can get his hands on, or sprinting around his habitat just to burn off steam, Leo lives big.

He’s also deeply social and now spends his days playing, wrestling, and getting into good-natured mischief with his partner, Skittles. The two make a lively pair, constantly finding new ways to turn even an ordinary moment into an acrobatic adventure.

Young Leo may have come from a past clouded by uncertainty, but here at Jungle Friends, he’s exactly where he belongs: wild-hearted, joyful, and wonderfully unstoppable.

For Young Leo, life is about new beginnings and real friendships. His days are now filled with joy, trust, and endless play with Daisy by his side. A far cry from the uncertain past he’s left behind.
