Baby Charlie may be growing up fast, but at heart he’s still the tender, joyful little capuchin everyone fell in love with. From his wide-eyed curiosity to the playful sparkle that’s beginning to reveal his mischievous streak, he brings infectious energy to the sanctuary. When Charlie first arrived, he was only a few months old — tiny, frightened, and still relying on a bottle.

Fortunately, he found loving surrogate monkey moms in Monkers and Zumie, both brown capuchins. Monkers stepped into the role of devoted mother without hesitation, offering constant comfort and reassurance, while Zumie became the perfect big sister, matching his youthful energy with playful companionship. With their steady guidance, Charlie grew confident, secure, and ready to explore the world.

Now older, Charlie has entered a new chapter filled with independence and discovery. He currently lives between two groups of white-faced capuchins as caregivers carefully determine the best fit and where he will thrive. Charlie spends his days investigating his surroundings, inventing games only he understands, and charming our visitors. His gentle nature shines through in every interaction, along with a growing hint of capuchin mischief that promises many entertaining years ahead.
