Corky is one of the sanctuary’s biggest personalities—loud, lively, and endlessly entertaining. If there’s a noise echoing across the habitat, chances are Corky is behind it. He shares his life with his lifelong companion Kelli and his best buddy Jimmy, and together their mischief is nothing short of an art form.

Corky’s early days at the sanctuary were challenging. He arrived severely underweight and unable to stand, yet his fierce spirit never wavered. With time, patience, and devoted care, Corky gained strength and began to thrive. Later, he faced another setback when he was found paralyzed from the waist down. Once again, Corky rose to the challenge. With medication, physical therapy, and a specially adapted “rehab-itat,” he made an extraordinary recovery—one that still amazes everyone who knows his story.

Today, Corky is strong, bright-eyed, and full of confidence, announcing himself with enthusiastic banging, joyful hollers, and plenty of flair. He’s also a shameless flirt, greeting favorite people with happy screams, spins, and irresistible charm. Whether he’s stirring up harmless chaos or patrolling his habitat with swagger, Corky radiates resilience, confidence, and an unstoppable zest for life.
