Dylan’s story began with a shaky start. Confiscated as a newborn and too weak to even lift his tiny head, he spent his earliest weeks fighting to regain strength. Travel wasn’t possible for such a fragile infant, so a nearby zoo provided round-the-clock care until he was strong enough to continue his journey to Jungle Friends.

When Dylan finally arrived, he clutched a stuffed animal and rocked softly for comfort—a quiet sign of how deeply he longed for his mother’s touch. In the exotic pet trade, monkeys are often taken from their mothers’ arms when they are just days old, a traumatic separation for both mother and baby. Dylan’s need for closeness reflected a loss no infant should experience.

Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait long. Monkers, a nurturing brown capuchin with a big heart, stepped effortlessly into the role of surrogate mom. She carried him everywhere, kept him close, and proudly delivered him to caregivers at feeding time, just like any devoted mother would.

Today, Dylan is all grown up and thriving. He now lives with Mia, a spirited white-faced capuchin who matches his energy step for step. Playful and full of enthusiasm, Dylan dives into every adventure—wrestling, exploring, and digging for hidden treasures in the earth. His journey is a powerful reminder of how compassion, patience, and proper care can help heal even the most fragile beginnings.
