Hayley came to Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary with her best friend, Ernie, along with Spanky and Bonnie, when she was seven years old. All four had been kept as pets, but their guardians soon learned the hard way that monkeys don’t belong in homes. After the group escaped their cage and caused chaos, the guardians realized it was time to find a better home. Now, Hayley spends her days enjoying the open space of the sanctuary, climbing trees, swinging from ropes, and playing chase. Hayley and Ernie especially love to hide from each other behind plants and inside barrels, turning their habitat into their own personal playground.

Hayley and Ernie share a special bond. Having been practically raised by Ernie, Hayley is very attached to him, and Ernie is always ready to run to her side at the slightest cry. The two are often seen grooming each other, a daily ritual that solidifies their close connection. At the end of a long day of play, Hayley loves nothing more than to curl up in their hammock next to Ernie for a nap. But Hayley isn’t just about play—she’s also one of Jungle Friends’ most dedicated monkey artists, spending hours with a paintbrush in hand. Her love for painting has made her a standout in the sanctuary, showcasing her creative side and adding a splash of color to her already vibrant life.
