Jack, a paragon of strength and independence, arrived at Jungle Friends with his companions, Manny and Moe, from a research facility where they had been used in malaria studies. There, they spent their lives confined to small, sterile metal cages with little opportunity to climb, explore, or engage in the natural behaviors that make monkeys who they are.
Today, Jack enjoys the simple pleasures that were once denied him—fresh air, sunshine, enrichment, and the freedom to make his own choices. When he arrived, he had lost nearly all of his fur due to the stress and conditions of his former life. Much of it has since grown back, although some hair loss remains on his tail where the follicles were permanently damaged.
Jack has blossomed into a confident and curious monkey who delights in playing with his collection of toys, especially those adorned with bells. One of his favorite pastimes is basking in the sunlight by the window, where he can often be found curled up contentedly, soaking up the warmth. He also looks forward to mealtime, with crunchy celery ranking among his favorite treats. Watching Jack enjoy the life he always deserved is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the monkeys who call Jungle Friends home.
